Not sure if this is because she opposed Pelosi, or because dems are starting to wake up to the fact that's she's so stupid she might actually be able to damage a brand who's very basis is being dumb, but the WaPo called Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's latest tweet a, “$21 trillion mistake.”
First, the offensively stupid tweet:
"21 TRILLION of Pentagon financial transactions “could not be traced, documented, or explained.”
$21T in Pentagon accounting errors. Medicare for All costs ~$32T.
That means 66% of Medicare for All could have been funded already by the Pentagon.
And that’s before our premiums."
And now the WaPo:
"The Washington Post’s fact check team debunked Ocasio-Cortez’s faulty logic in a Tuesday morning post, calling the tweet her “$21 trillion mistake.”
WaPo explains that the $21 trillion in unaccounted for Pentagon money is the sum of all transactions, “not one big pot of dormant money collecting dust somewhere.”
“The figure cited had to do with the accounting for inflows and outflows within the Pentagon budget, meaning that the same dollar could be accounted for many times. It does not mean there were trillions of dollars that the Pentagon spent on pure fraud that otherwise could have been spent on other national priorities,” Philip Klein further explained in the Washington Examiner."
And of course, presumably at least some of this money was actually spent on defending the country. WaPo finished by giving her “four Pinocchios” and that her "direct comparison" was "badly flawed."
How stupid do you have to be as a liberal for the Washington Post to call you out on it?
No matter what you do, you'll never ride away from you.
