No waves at all.

Looks like the Dems will take the house, but barely, certainly not enough to cause too much mischief.

GOP holds the Senate so any mischief they might cause can be snuffed out.

Michigan still embarrassingly Democrat, to my complete shame.

It's one of the only drawbacks of living here is putting up with their filth.

Almost enough to make me leave.

Anyways, it's wrapping up now

John James did well - the senate up for grabs in the next election, particularly if James runs again.

Far as governor goes, Michigan always flips.  It's done so for decades.  It's a miracle Schutte did as well as he did considering the Flint water disaster.  So too the other major positions flip.

Elsewhere, almost exactly as I called it - the dems will pick control of the House by about plus 10ish, the GOP likely gained one or two.

Those dems pushing Beto for Prez in 2020 - after he got crushed by Fat Dracula - one of the more unintentionally funny things about the night.  The notion of him beating Trump truly laughable.

Speaking of laughable - unless you live in her district - is that Horseface McSocialist, er Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, won, thus becoming the youngest female elected to Congress.  And the best looking.  And smartest.  I'm sure that it will all work out great for the good people of New York.

Well, stalemate is here... but of course the dirty little secret is that there are so many RINOs that we already had that.   Interesting to see how the dems try to spin not voting for Trump's 10% middle class tax cut.  In the big picture, the dems now gave a ready made excuse for Trump in 2020 when something bad happens.  The big blue wave was a bust; just enough to hurt them in 2020.

One last note about the Michigan election - the GOP managed to keep the weed prop off the ballot in 2016, rightly feeling it might draw out voters not keen on the party.  In those 2 years between then and now, the GOP had time to draw up their own pro-pot plan, but failed to.  Thus tonight, some of these close races that ended up losses - particularly John James -  have paid a price for that stubbornness.

A real lesson in American politics if ever there was one.

Unreal, it always amazes the when people vote against their own self interest.

Economy is doing great, peace is breaking out all over the world, unemployment at record lows......let's vote Democrat!

However, the good news is that not only did the Republicans keep the Senate, they actually added 3 to it, which is pretty amazing.

Naturally, Michigan passed the stupid Gerrymandering and "Lets let illegals vote" proposals, BUT they also passed the Marijuana proposal, so we'll see how that  goes.

I'm a little up and down about Prop 1 because while I support people's freedom to do what they like, I also don't like the idea of possibly promoting dangerous drugs.

"New" weed isn't like the old stuff, and there's these "Dab" pens that are actually killing kids because the "New" weed is hyper-genetically engineered to like 90% potency.

BUT, let's see what happens.

BTW - There should have been an addendum; If it's legal, you can't test for it as an employer.  That's something that needs to be in law, you shouldn't be able to test for drugs.  It's unconstitutional.

Even MORE good news!

Florida is SOLID red now, with DeSantis beating Gillum and Scott beating Nelson (well, they haven't called it yet, but its coming), so good news there.

Ohio is SOLID red now with DeWine as their new Governor to succeed Kaisch's crazy ass.  Good GOD what an asshole.

Georgia rebuffed one of THE dumbest candidates (besides Maxine Waters) ever to run for Governor.

Arizona looks like it's amazingly still red with McSally edging out Sinema, who I'm pretty sure is a porn star.  (She's not, but its funny anyway, come on "Krysten Sinema"?)

So Obama's first Mid-Term saw him lose the House AND Senate, meanwhile Trump lost the House and ADDED to the Senate, plus he added TWO Supreme Court Justices.

So, Michigan continues to shoot itself in the foot, while the rest of the country just kind of "Meh".

"Trump’s Republicans Beat Historical Average for Midterm Elections

Republicans were disappointed to lose the House of Representatives to Democrats on Tuesday. But they gained several seats in the Senate. Overall the GOP out-performed the historical average for the president’s party.

As Tom Bevan of RealClearPolitics noted, almost all of the Democrat Senators in competitive races who voted against Kavanaugh lost on Tuesday, while the one who voted for Kavanaugh — Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) — won."
-------------------------------

What will be interesting is whether or not the dems allow Pelosi to become speaker again.  Hopefully yes, as the damage she will do to them is nearly incalculable.

Trump is ASKING for Pelosi to be Speaker.

Love it, what a troll.

Trump posting to Twitter, “In all fairness, Nancy Pelosi deserves to be chosen Speaker of the House by the Democrats. She has earned this great honor."

Fucking genius.

Well, it likely means 4 things...

1, dems in toss-up/red states that won may play nice and cross the aisle.  It almost certainly means Kavanaugh will not be impeached (although those wanting the complete destruction of dems may want them to try anyway).

2, the GOP has a chance of winning back the house in 2 years.

3, it means they'll like retain the Senate.

4, and most importantly, it further diminishes the chances for whoever the dems nominate (cough Hillary cough cough) to run against Trump.

Well, of course that's right - despite spending tens of millions ($100 million spent by both sides, making it the most expensive senate contest ever), bringing in Hollywood stars, and of course the non-stop negative/fake/partisan news, Cruz won (even though he was down 12 plus points according to early "polls").

But Cruz didn't win big.  The margin was less then 3%.  Considering that Texas in the past was always slam dunk republican, that's a mighty slim victory.  That Beto did as well as he did is bad news.

So to did Beto do decently well against arguably one of the most able politicians alive.  Now Beto had lots of help and lots of money, but compared to other democrats, Beto looks like Kennedy in his prime.

Meaning that, while it's easy to dismiss him because, well, he's a democrat, he's the only dem under the age of 65 that seems to have a pulse.

Ann Coulter:

"That’s all you got?

Two years of non-stop campaigning, denouncing and doxing — and all the Resistance has to show for it is a House majority smaller than the one Republicans currently have and a net loss of three Senate seats? (Thank you, Justice Brett Kavanaugh!)

Democratic leaders may try saying, “THIS IS JUST WHAT WE WANTED! We wanted to be down by three Senate seats.” But I think their voters are saying, We were hoping for more of a rebuke.

The media exhausted itself on this election! Can they go back to that level of hysteria today?

President Clinton lost 54 House seats and eight Senate seats in his first midterm, as voters responded to Hillary’s attempt to socialize health care. President Obama lost 63 House seats and six Senate seats in his first midterm, as voters responded to the Democrats’ successful party-line vote to socialize health care.

America’s response to Trump’s first two years? Republicans lost fewer than 40 House seats and gained Senate seats. (Again: Thank you, Justice Kavanaugh.)"
--------------------------------------------

But of course, the GOP also lost 6 Governorships and Lord only knows how many other state positions.  In Michigan, every single major political job, from governor to AG to SoS, was won by a democrat.

In other words, while yes, it's the fewest seats lost since Reagan, there's plenty of other bad news.

So while there was no blue wave, there certainly wasn't what should have happened, the abject destruction of the democrat party.

And the last of the election night drama finally ended this morning - November 28th - as the GOP will add yet another senator to the roster as Cindy Hyde-Smith became the first female senator for Mississippi.

She beat a black, male, democrat, and as American politics of the left is only about identity, I suppose that's all you need to know about him, other then he's a life-long politician.

Trump, for his part, campaigned heavily for her, stopping in the state to hold two rallies for her on Monday, making this yet another campaign win for him.

The GOP now holds a 3 seat advantage over dems in the senate.
